    FAQS

This scheme is being brought forward by Elvetham Hall (Property) Ltd, as a subsidiary of Jastar Capital, who acquired the Elvetham Hotel and Estate back in November 2019. Since purchasing the site we have been developing ambitious plans to re-invigorate it with the restoration of key buildings, and sensitive expansions sitting at the heart of that vision.

We are committed to engaging with the local community in Hartley Wintney as part of the development process.

The site has a wonderful heritage, however the current Estate and its buildings are starting to suffer from deterioration, requiring significant investment to restore them to their former glory.

With this in mind and the current Hotel’s offer limited to guest accommodation, small conferences or meetings and smaller weddings, the project team have been devising proposals that breathe new life into the Estate’s buildings, restoring them in a manner that reflects their historical significance whilst offering enhanced facilities for guests and visitors.

Our evolving masterplan for the site involves:

    • The Hall – replacement of the 1970s extension on the north-west elevation with a new single-storey extension, the repair and restoration of the 1911 house chapel, and various other minor internal alterations
    • The Stables Court – the provision of a two-storey extension and a glazed corridor entrance to the ground-floor rooms within the courtyard
    • The Event Centre – the provision of a single-storey with basement event centre on the Upper Terrace Garden at the east end of the walled garden
    • The Spa – the provision of a single-storey spa building in the location of the existing mid-20th century glasshouses within the walled garden and incorporating the existing back sheds
    • St Mary’s Church – the repair, restoration and adaptation of the redundant church for events uses
    • Car Park – reconfiguration of the existing car park to increase capacity
    • The Water Tower – the repair and adaptation of the water tower for hotel accommodation
    • Heather and Bluebell Cottages – the demolition of the existing mid-20th century houses at the west end of the walled garden and the provision of additional guest and staff accommodation within five replacement buildings
    • Eco Pods – the provision of four eco pods in the south corner of the pleasure gardens
    • The Gardens and Wider Estate – the repair and restoration of significant landscaping in the formal gardens, pleasure gardens, walled garden and wider site, as well as the repair and restoration of garden structures such as the listed walls of the Terrace Garden. The proposals also include the provision of new planting and landscaping to the Events Court and walled garden.
